Started a few new small pieces. 7"x9", background in acrylic and the foreground will be in Oilbar. I'm going to continue at least a few of these in the Native American Series that I started in marker for the kids.I've measured them out to fit the mats I can buy at Menards and I plan on making color copies of them reduced to 90% of the original size. That way I can sign then underneath as a limited edition. I hope to have a dozen or so done by the end of this week for the hanging on Sunday.I've painted a single color for the background, but I might do another color. After measuring the size I tape it rectangle off for a clean edge. I have five sheets of paper marked off with a background done so far.

Finished all five this morning now. Now to let them dry and to pick up more painters tape to tape off the edges. When these are dry I'll take them to Kinko's to makje prints.

Just finished taping off 7 more sheets of paper and now I'm ready to start painting the background.Looking at the 5 that I finished last night I like all of them but the bird is the least . Due to the bird itself as well as the background. While the pregnant woman background is not very interesting either. But still the animals and the figures work as well. I could try some masks this time and see what happens. If all goes well tonight I should have twelve complete, needing only ten for this weekend.

Well finished off the first background layer. I went with a blue in each of them. In the first few I had a brilliant blue alone an blended with other blues, light blues. On the third I introduced a darker blue, moving on to a light green with a medium blue and ending with the last two having a dark blue with purple and burnt umber blended in.Now the question of course is should I use red on these as a second layer or should I use another color.Red I think would hold the series together.

Finished 6 more pieces, I had done only 6 backgrounds last night. What a bummer. But I did measure out and tape up 8 more from a new pad of paper that a little heavier #80 weight.

Did the background on the 8 heavy weight papers. Used mostly yellow and a bit of green. I've added red but I might add a few swatches of dark blue on a couple that look like they need it.I was thinking today that I could use some of Veronica's art for inspiration.I just need to find the right ones.

Did 3 works from Veronica's drawings. One a sort of abstract the other two with stick figures. The other ones aren't dry yet. I might have to try the hair dryer to attempt to speed up the process. I need the first ten of eleven dry by early tomorrow if I'm to have prints and have the originals matted.I should stop by Menard's to see if they received any more white mats, since I bought out all of them.

Made up 14 more sheets, new type of paper Cryla for acrylic painting. 14 sheets taped off and 7 sheets with the first coating on the background. Now to go in and choose the imagery that I want to put on them. This series has found a lot of acceptance or praise is a better word I guess. We shall see where this will take me.I need to pull up my other book on native American art, and to look at other types of images. Maybe I can translate the icons from the Serbian book too.

When I was hanging the paintings in Gallery 1633 I realized that half the paintings were of animals and half were human figures. I hung up eight of the paintings, plus the print.

Took 6 of the paintings to Kinko's for color coping. The other two from Dec 8th were still wet. There are 4 moe on the wall including the one I did yesterday of the mask. My first mask its a little different from the others in this series. Its less of an outline figure more shaded. more of a vilume floating in space.

Made 20 more background tonight. Some may need another layer of color but many seen finished as is. I concentrated on red and yellow as the colors but some have violet and a couple also have a dark blue in them.I did one background on a 16"x20" canvas board. The background is great it could be an abstract painting on its own.
